CRISTIAN DUMITRANA

I was born (May, the 29-th, 1961) into a family with solid religious traditions (my grandfathers on the maternal line, as well as a number of my forefathers, were orthodox priests). Ever since a child, I have felt the revelation of divine grace and inspiration, and at an early age I tried to express my feelings though drawing and painting; so I attended schools to become an iconographer. This, I believe, can be a way back into the path of Christian moral values and true unerring faith – for me and the others – the beneficiaries of my work.
I am romanian and italian citizenship.

BYZANTINE & NEO-BYZANTINE ICONOGRAPHY

- An icon in itself becomes a cult object after the priest has consecrated it.
- It observes the old Christian traditions from iconographical, theological and technical points of view
- It helps believers in their prayers and offers a life example, embodying the world as it should be, i.e. religious.

TROMPE L’ŒIL

- By definition it means “fool the eye”(trompe l’oeil), an inventive style artifice which enables the painter to create a false impression, an illusion, in the likeness of a surprise, of space and perspective in various places on the interior and/or exterior surface of buildings.
- This technique has antique origins and was recently implemented using linear perspective criteria.
